Curriculum

Motherwell Junior School

Combines both international and national skills to come out with a unique foundation. Some of the uniqueness that we hold is to teach four international languages namely; English, French, German, and Kiswhili. At Motherwell we follow the international and national curriculum to come out with a unique curriculum which helps us bring up a self sustaining child.

We teach all subjects stipulated in the National Curriculum set by the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) including English, Mathematics, Basic Science, Social Studies and R.E, the four subjects examined by UNEB at primary seven levels.

In the lower Primary section (P.1- P.3), we run the Thematic Curriculum which was introduced by the Ministry of Education & Sports which focuses on literacy and numeracy.

Alongside the above; we have French, Art and Crafts and computer Studies. We also have Physical Education, indoor and outdoor games like football, swimming, badminton, woodball, table tennis just to mention but a few. Clubs and societies like Red Cross, Wildlife, Scouting, Home Economics, and Writers' Club form part of our range of co-curricular activities.

In the Nursery (Joyous Angels) we are fully embracing the International curriculum. We admit learners from 1 – 6 years of age. The learners are categorized into play group, kindergarten, and pre–primary. We approach teaching using themes.
